2ND KAKAMEGA SME EXPO TO BE HELD IN OCTOBER 2024

As the year progresses on, so does the second Kakamega SME Expo draw nearer and nearer. This year, promising to converge over 200 businesses from a wide range of sectors and regions countrywide. The dates for this year’s edition are set for the 25th and 26th October 2024 at the iconic Bukhungu Stadium Parking Lot which fall on a Friday and Saturday hence providing an excellent opportunity to everyone to participate either as a partner, sponsor, exhibitor or walk-in attendees.

Kakamega SME Expo 2023 Review

The inaugural edition of the expo was held on the 27th and 28th October 2023 and brought together 102 businesses ranging from micro-small extreprises, small and medium enterprises as well as large enterprises such as Safaricom PLC, Absa Bank, Equity Bank, Skyward Express, National Bank among others. Besides the business stakeholders participating, we also had a great number of governmental and non-governmental agencies such as the National Employment Authority (NEA), the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA), the Kakamega County Investment and Development Agency (KCIDA) and the GIZ that facilitated the registration of over 10 Agricultural based SMEs from across the region.

With over 1,500 walk-in traffic coupled with hundreds of team members from the showcasing companies patronizing the exhibition spaces of different firms, the Kakamega Expo was an excellent chance for the companies to generate direct business sales, create long-term strategic partnerships, get to learn from each other and most importantly, everyone got to appreciate the vibrant business community that is present in the larger Kakamega and Western region in general.

Apart from the on-ground exhibitions, the planning team put together a strong online presence promoting the brands to wider audiences with the inaugural Title Sponsor: Fly Skyward Express trending on the X platform alongside our general expo publicity campaigns.

2ND EDITION OVERVIEW

The second Kakamega SME Expo is themed; “Building Businesses For Impact” and its main focus will be converging the various businesses in the larger Lake Region Economic Bloc for two days of networking, realizing sales, creating business linkages and promoting the various strategies of ensuring the communities within which they operate are improved.

This therefore translates to making the next expo all about sustainability and giving back to the society through creation of employment opportunities both directly and indirectly, investing in the environmental wellbeing through tree planting, promotion of use of green energy among many other strategies.
